People who meditate on a regular basis are found to be consistently happier, more focused, motivated, productive, peaceful and energetic.
Research has found that those practising Transcendental Meditation have 33% lower cortisol (stress hormone) levels and a decrease in adrenaline. They have marked increases in our “happy chemistry”: serotonin and dopamine.
Research suggests Transcendental Meditation helps to improve overall brain function. During meditation our prefrontal cortex is stimulated and, as a consequence, neurophysiological connections improve and alpha waves become more efficient. These cognitive changes help us to think more clearly when responding to external stimuli, helping us to focus and have clarity in decision-making.
SLEEP
Transcendental Meditation promotes a deep state of rest (peace/calm). This reduces over-stimulation which means sleep is deeper and this increases overall energy.
REJUVENATING
Stress caused by the “hamster wheel of life” can have a profound effect upon our immune system which, if left unchecked, speeds up the ageing process. Transcendental Meditation reduces the built-up stress, improving our immune system and slowing down the ageing process. This means we are sick less often and are more youthful in appearance!
When we are well-rested, calmer, happier and healthier, we come across to others as happy, healthy and confident and others pick up on this. The result is we can cope with frustrations more readily and are less reactive and we are much nicer to be around!
Those practising mantra based therapies report anecdotally that their relationships are much more positive. Andre teaches couples and families who regularly state they have a greater depth of relationship and calmness with each other.
